Linda A. Swinehart
Linda A. Swinehart, 81, of Granger, died Wednesday March 1, 2017. Born in Noble Co. on June 21, 1935 to George & Barbara (Bryant) Buckles, she graduated from Albion High School with the Class of ’53. Linda earned her Nursing Degree from Parkview School of Nursing in Fort Wayne and worked as a registered nurse at Elkhart General Hospital. On May 30, 1959 she married Don Swinehart in Simpson Methodist Church in Elkhart. He survives after 57 years of marriage. Linda was a member of Granger Missionary Church and was a devoted to her family. Always happy, upbeat & positive, she enjoyed crochet, collecting red glass and working word puzzles on her iPad. She also enjoyed singing & music and had been a member of the South Bend Symphonic Choir as well as being active in her church choir. Linda was preceded in death by her father, George Buckles, her mother, Barbara Uhl and her step-father, Frank Uhl. She is survived by her husband Don and their children, Perry Swinehart of Elkhart, Donita (Scott) Clark of Granger and Scott Swinehart of Mishawaka; her grandchildren, Lindsey & Adam Swinehart, Jaymee & Scottie Clark, Justin Swinehart and her cousin, Kathy (Toby) Refner of Hamilton, IN. Funeral Services 11:00 Saturday March 4, 2017 in Granger Missionary Church, 50841 Birch Rd, Granger, where friends may call from 10-11am Saturday. Burial in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
