Obituary for
Rebecca Ann Crane (Scott)
SOUTH BEND – Rebecca A. Crane, 75, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on July 6, 2017 in South Bend. She was born to the late Turner and Glenn Dola (Cherry) Scott on January 17, 1942 in Mishawaka, IN. Rebecca was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She had very long-lasting friendships over the course of her life. Friends could count on her to help them in any instance of need. She cherished time spent with her family and adored her grandchildren. She was also known to be a dedicated employee. She took great pride in her work in food service management for many years with Bonnie Doon and later at Kroger in the deli department. She rarely, if ever, missed a day of work and her colleagues and family recognized value in her commitment to excellence. Most of all, Rebecca was a Christian woman sworn to her faith. She lovingly gave the simple advice to those in doubt or trouble to, “just pray about it.”
Rebecca is survived by her daughter, Sheryl (Christian) Hoskins of Mishawaka, IN; grandchildren, Eric Hazen, Ryan Starrett, and Brock Hoskins; brother, Ken (Barbara Kaplan) Scott of El Cerrito, CA; step-son, William Crane, Jr. of Mishawaka, IN; step-daughters, Cynthia (Paulo) Radomille of South Bend, IN, and Dee Ann (Don) Weber of Mishawaka, IN, and fifteen step-grandchildren. Ms. Crane was preceded in death by her step-son, Thomas Crane.
