Vivian Anna Noel (Barnes)
Vivian Anna Noel, 85, of Elkhart, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. The Elkhart native was born June 3, 1932 to Ester and Ura (Ulis) Barnes, who have both preceded her in death. January 31, 1980, Vivian married Easielean Noel, who preceded her in death on March 2, 2011. Vivian was a member of the Greater Wayside Temple Church of God in Christ for many years. Vivian enjoyed table games and computer games. She was a people person who was an encouraging, positive person. She was a Private Nurses Aide and loved to volunteer help others. Vivian loved her family very much and she will be dearly missed. Vivian is survived by her children, Clemon House Jr., Alfonzo (Sonya) House, Stella (Babatunde) Ogunlaja, Robert (Peggy) House, Chester (Sandra) House, and Korena (Donnie) Massey; 23 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jeanette Cantrell, Nancy Payton, Harriet Barnes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 31 years, Easielean; sons, James Barnes and Wilbur Barnes; her brother, Willard Barnes; and 2 sisters, Odessa Lenox, Eleanor Lee. A funeral service in Vivian’s honor will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Agape Missionary Baptist Church, 248 W. Wolf Avenue, Elkhart, IN 46516 with calling one hour prior. Elder James Andrews, Jr. will officiate with the burial following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family’s preferred memorial is to Greater Wayside Temple Church of God in Christ, 638 Goshen Avenue, Elkhart, IN 46516.
