Ronald K. Hughes
ELKHART – Ronald K. Hughes, 75, passed away peacefully July 31, 2017 while surrounded by his family. Mr. Hughes was born in Elkhart on November 15, 1941 to the late Katherine (Wrightsman) Burns. He married Mary Leak on November 26, 1962. Together, Ronald and Mary celebrated nearly 50 years of marriage before her passing on July 22, 2012.
Mr. Hughes served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Jimtown High School. Ronald gathered with other Jimtown Alum to have breakfast each month. He also enjoyed visiting his neighbor for coffee every day and loved walking through Wal-Mart to get his exercise.
Ronald is survived by his son, Timothy (Jamie) Hughes of Elkhart; grandchildren, Wesley (Ashley) Clanton and Adam Clanton; great-grandchildren, Colton Clanton and Easton Clanton, and one brother, Roy Burns also of Elkhart. In addition to Ronald’s parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Hughes and Harold Burns.
Family will be receiving friends for visitation from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home located at 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the funeral home with Associate Pastor Art Smoot to officiate.
