Condolence From: DJ Ridgway

Condolence: Dan Jr, Steve, Tammy, Cindy, Chris & Andy,

I know this is a sad time for all of you. As such, I wanted to express my sincerest condolences. Also, I wanted to share some of my memories of your Dad.

I didn't get to see you guys or Uncle Dan a lot. However, whenever we did get together, it always felt easy and natural (as if you were only 30 min away). I suppoed this is how family should feel. I was always excited to see Uncle Dan. He always made time to connect / talk to the kids. I appreciated that. Your Dad was one of a kind - a really interesting person.

A couple memories...

When our family went on our cross country adventure, I remember Uncle Dan taking us on a ride on his motorcycle. May not seem so cool now, but when you're 12 or 13, it's pretty cool. And something that sticks with you even now when you're 44 yrs old.

The last time I saw your Dad (maybe 15 or so years ago), he had this game he was playing. The goal was to have the last peg on the board. I watched him play some of the others in the room and then played him myself. I won (mainly because I watched, figured out how he was manipulating the game and he wasn't taking anyone too serious). But then he wanted to play again. I refused...Why? Because I knew he would crush me the next time. So, why not go out on top? But that was your Dad. He made things fun and interesting.

I hope you guys can find peace, comfort and even shed a smile or two while you reminisce about your Dad. He will be missed.
